Our College

The Recovery College offers personalised training across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, supporting people to live well with mental health conditions. Our team is made up of people with lived experience of mental health illness and clinical trainers. We provide courses both in person in your communities and online.

We also offer a dedicated student support team who are available to meet with students to support in developing a learning plan mapped to individual goals. If you would like to learn more or ask what courses are best for you, get in touch and this team will be able to help.

CHIME Framework

The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Recovery College is underpinned by the CHIME framework of recovery. CHIME stands for Connectedness, Hope & Optimism, Identity, Meaning, and Empowerment. This framework helps to guide our curriculum and ways of working in the college, to ensure that we are working in a recovery-focused and evidence-based way.

Our Story

The Hampshire & IOW Recovery College is a newly formed service sat within Hampshire & IOW Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. It is formed from two previous colleges, the Southern Health Recovery College, and the Solent Recovery College (formerly delivered by Solent Mind). These previous colleges tended to offer services to residents of Southampton and Portsmouth – we are now pleased to be able to offer support to all those living in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

We are a new College but have trainers with many years of experience. We are working hard to ensure that this college offers an outstanding service across our two counties, and will continue to learn and grow alongside all those who attend our courses.

Our Partners

We work in partnership with many other organisations, for example:

University of Portsmouth – we have a base within the campus of the University, offering support to local residents and students.

Solent Mind – this charity continues to offer services and training that is complementary to ours. Solent Mind offer services across Hampshire.

Isorropia Foundation – this charity offers a wide range of support and training on the Isle of Wight.

If you’d like to partner with us or share resources via this website, please get in touch.
